Research Training for
Young Health Professionals
of Nepal

Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) is pleased to announce a series of Training Workshops targeting Young Health Professionals of Nepal in collabration with Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC).This year-long project has been supported by Inter Academy Partnership.

Who can take this training ?

Nepalese Young Health Professionals who have obtained at least a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Allied Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Public health, Biomedical sciences), who are passionate about medical research. Age limit is 35 years.

Training Objectives

1. To enhance knowledge and skills of the participants for the development of health systems research proposal
2. To acquaint the participants with health systems research process
3. To enhance the skills of the participants in research report writing


Accomplished researchers and scientists, affiliated with NHRC, who have a huge depth of knowledge on scientific research as well as a track record of publications in high impact scientific journals.

Registration Fees

There is a nominal registration fee of NRS 1000 for this workshop. It covers all of the training sessions for two days, a standard registration kit (stationery, conference bag, 8 GB flash-drive), Training booklets, Training Certificate, Breakfast & Lunch for Day 1 and 2, Coffee breaks, Social evening & Dinner reception on Closing Day, and more.

Selected participants are required to contact the Registration desk on Day 1.

Scholarships and Travel Grants

Available for eligible participants on need basis. Please explain your situation in the application form.

With the conclusion of all three workshops, there will be a call for online applications for Research Proposals on any health related topic. Top 5 research proposals will be selected and awarded ‘Research Grant’ up to NRS 50,000 each. Applications for research award will be opened in August 2017.

While selecting awardees, high priority will be given to the workshop participants who can demonstrate strong compassion on research, who come up with innovative research ideas which could have a huge impact in their respective fields, and who can develop a clear framework of their proposed study.

    Post Conference Tour

    For those interested, a brief tour of the city can be coordinated after the conclusion of all training sessions.
